Overland to Oregon

Lenox HistoryI read this book with considerable interest, not only in the Oregon Trail interest, but because this book was written by a young man who was 16 years old at the time of their blazing the Oregon Trail and who happened to be the son of David T. Lenox, my great great grandfather. I remember my grandmother telling stories of this historical time and their truth was verified after reading the book. It's amazing the use of the English language (or should I say lack of it) was especially of interest to me. Thank you.

Pacific Destiny (G K Hall Large Print Book)

Entering the home stretch of the series.Considering the vast differences that the protagonists in this book undertake in this book, it is amazing that this book came off as well as it did. You have Henry in the Phillipines, helping to overthrow the Spanish there. You have Tim & others in Cuba watching the rise in fame of Teddy Rooselvelt while dealing with yellow fever. Then you have Frank still in the Yukon, getting ready to go home.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to read more about the Spanish American War.

A Great Addition to the WS-New American Cooking SeriesThis is a great addition to the WS Library, and will be to any cookbook reader's library. The Pacific Northwest has easy to follow recipes that are true to the regions bounty. As with all WS books, the pictures can write a story themselves. I especially like the sections that go into the history of the regional produce and what florishes naturally in the Northwest climate. This is a true representation of what makes that area of our country so unique. Reading the book has made me want to take a trip back there.

The Pacific Northwest

Wonderful BookI just loved this book. It was required to read for a history class. I just loved how the author wrote this book, and added humor into it.
I was so interested of what was going to happen next. a good book to read, a good book for any type of reading.
It's about the history of "The Pacific NorthWest", for before the time when Lewis and Clark explored the area and reached Astoria on the coast of Oregon. It talks about the Days of Captain cook and the fight for the terriory, and each chapter is broken down into sub-chapters for more clarification.
It goes to the history of N.W. to about the mid 1990's.
I really enjoyed this book, and learned a lot about the area.

Great book. It works!Just returned from an extended camping and hiking trip in Washington and Oregon. This book was GREAT. We used it every day to find where to stay and what to expect, and to chose our evening domiciles. We found it to be totally accurate and fun to read too. Nice one. I plan to get the other Stienstra camping guides too now that I know the quality of the info.

The Pacific Northwest Coast: Living With the Shores of Oregon and Washington (Living With the Shore)
Published in Library Binding by Duke Univ Pr (Trd) (January, 1998)
Average review score:

The Pacific Northwest CoastThe book is valuable and understandable. I am doing research in preparation to a move to the west coast of Oregon. Professor Komar takes a complicated issue and makes it understandable for a lay person. He is clear about what level of evidence exists for various subjects and is clear when expressing his opinion. The book very much answered just about all the questions I had.
I highly recommend it!
